The End of 2010

9 Jan

Been a while since a post last. Don’t worry fans! 2011 should be much better! Happy New Year to you all. I hope your holiday period turned out great.

So what’s been happening in the world of decoratingbrisbane? I’ve had a fairly eventful month of late.

Work was incredibly busy leading up to the end of the year and then……….

Merry Christmas To Me!

I ended up in hospital with apendicitis a week before Christmas and spent the time out of hospital recovering at my mum’s place, cooking up a storm. My christmas gift to friends was a hamper of homemade treats with a recipe book included.

Finishing up the hampers

I employed half the household for these. My little brother held the fabric down while I tied the ribbons!

This is what two kilos of grated zucchini looks like....

The hook was “Wounded Wog Farms – Now 100% Appendix Free”.

The hamper included Kiwi-Jam drops (using the Kiwi Fruit Jam created in an earlier post), Museli Slice, a napoli sauce, Ginger and Wholegrain Mustard Vinaigrette and Zucchini Butter.

If you’re curious, and would like a copy of the booklet the came with it, you can download the recipe book in pdf format here.

Kudos to my mum for helping me with this, I was in quite a bit of pain and rather sluggish, and her help was very appreciated!

I ended up pottering about the house alot, napping and watching either LifeStyle Food (we cooked a few meals based on what we’d seen on Nigella Lawson and the Barefoot Contessa – fantastic shows, I recommend them) or the music channels.

Christmas rocked around and I got this from mum (can’t wait to use it!)

I can't wait to get all "Looking for Alibrandi" on everyone!

And then a day-after-boxing-day Christmas feast at a friends place. Turkey, Turkey Turkey.

Christmas got a bit kinky this year....

After all of that it was back to work to catch up on work and get as much done as humanly possible (I never intended to take time off! I had so much planned)

So what exactly is in store for me so far this year?

  • Wicked! in February
  • My 24th in March (including a trip to Sydney for Mardi Gras, and Melbourne to see Xanadu The Musical)
  • Katy Perry in May
  • Jennifer Coolidge (Stifler’s mum) in June

And I’m sure much much more!

And just to keep in with the overly italian feel of the past month, here’s an oldie to rock out to:

Thanks, It certainly made for a crappy christmas present from my body (Stupid appendix!).
The pasta maker on the other hand is great, I just need some time to make some!
